Just as a hammer is strong, forceful, and straightforward in its purpose, the teachings of Dr. Peterson are an excellent tool to wield when challenged with rebuilding the broken lives of friends and family. Thor, in all of his glory, is still just a fantasy, but the hammer of Dr. Peterson is real indeed and available to all of us now. Much respect and thanks to a true modern superhero...

Hierarchy is determined by your ability to function without ego. That's how you know someone is not suppose to lead, they have an EGO. It boils down to existing in humility and focus your pride on the people you love, not yourself. Intelligence? I say aptitude. Intelligence can become irrelevant very quickly, aptitude, not so much. This is why Elon Musk won't last. Dude stepping on some toes with the remarks about disliking children. LOL. People don't like that mirror. Women can deny facts very strongly. They turn into Karens. Carl Jung is great. But the most life changing for me was Immanuel Kant. The part about duty. At the time, I was like? Wtf? Why would someone do that? How does someone do that? What does that mean I am doing now? Now, I understand.

Their small issues are insignificant unlike mine that I have had all my life and still do, from poor minded parents, and other people that never grew up after 30 are raising so many more baby's now in this country, so respect and morals are more and more disappearing every generation in this USA. Things really should change, so people could understand and teach others respect and morals. Especially to American government workers and politicians, that are only after the good for them! But most people don't care because ignorance is bliss

..... How to present yourself You want to present yourself to the world in a manner that does not disgrace you in some sense, you don't want to disgrace yourself, because the consequences of disgrace is emotional dysregulation, more pain, less positive emotions, you want to the world a sign of confidence, so most likely people will give you the benifit of the doubt, people will also take u seriously, and then they will start treating you as you are number group than number 10 group, Thus you can confront the world in courageous manner, it also a good way of figuring out how to establish yourself in multiple competence challenges, and u can confront things that frighten you with courage And this was rule number, what a wonderful articulated words

Completely agree with him that western culture is fundamentally honest. The West is far more honest. There are plenty of TV documentaries showing the good and bad of the West produced by Western mainsteam channels. They aren't afraid to talk about any bad history and wrongs they did. In the East, the Eastern mainstream channels would never show any bad/wrong they have done. There may be a reason why so many people want to flee to western countries, one may be because their government leaders are like thugs. A big part of this like he raises at the end is Christ. The bible itself has largely shaped western culture throughout its history and western law. Recognising the wrong, admitting the wrong (honesty), and the fight to not do the wrong again.

Research presented at the ACM FAT 2020 conference in Barcelona today supports the notion that YouTube’s platform is playing a role in radicalizing users via exposure to far-right ideologies. The study, carried out by researchers at Switzerland’s Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, found evidence that users who engaged with a middle ground of extreme right-wing content migrated to commenting on the most fringe far-right content. A March 2018 New York Times article by sociologist Zeynep Tufekci set out the now widely reported thesis that YouTube is a radicalization engine. Followup reporting by journalist Kevin Roose told a compelling tale of the personal experience of an individual, Caleb Cain, who described falling down an “alt right rabbit hole” on YouTube. But researcher Manoel Horta Ribeiro, who was presenting the paper today, said the team wanted to see if they could find auditable evidence to support such anecdotes. Their paper, called “Auditing radicalization pathways on YouTube,” details a large-scale study of YouTube looking for traces of evidence — in likes, comments and views — that certain right-leaning YouTube communities are acting as gateways to fringe far-right ideologies. Per the paper, they analyzed 330,925 videos posted on 349 channels — broadly classifying the videos into four types: Media, the Alt-lite, the Intellectual Dark Web (IDW) and the Alt-right — and using user comments as a “good enough” proxy for radicalization (their data set included 72 million comments)

I've met Jordan at a public talk at university. Outside there were protests and those who were protesting would have done well to listen to the How to Academy Mindset recordings. Surfnsound's story is such a resounding YES. Jordan of course has one perspective and it's not complete but it's better than just complaining and negating everything. We're all limited bur to take risks and talk in public about your beliefs and how you feel that they can help people is a worthwhile role-model. Jordan is a role-model. That is something really important to recognise. It's not his words which are the essential aspect of his presentations but that he does his best with good intentions which have helped many people. THANKS!

So after watching this, I’m very curious about what I see is first social filter in a person life under rule #5 where Professor Peterson mentions that a person is successfully as a parent if their child is a desirable playmate by the age of 4. He then specially goes out of his way to say if you are not a desirable playmate by that age, literature suggests you will not have great outcomes. I believe I was a not desirable playmate at that age, what should now grown up, unpopular children do the change their lives around. I could be misinterpreting his message, or should literature just suggest I give up on my life. I’m not sure I need some help interpreting this.

FACT CHECK: human emotions and heirarchies are NOT repeat NOT regulated by serotonin. They are regulated by human self actualisation and achievement in the real world, and very much influenced by upbringing and any trauma or neglect suffered early in life.Serotonin is higher in happy confident people. That dosen't mean you can just inject unhappy people with serotonin and get the same result.Serotonin is a result of feeling good not the CAUSE of feeling good...jeez do i really have to explain this.Take an example the sun shines and we get light on earth.Peterson logic dictatates that the sun was created by light on earth. There is of course a relationship between the two but that relationship has to be defined correctly.

His point about serotonin is fundamentally incorrect.Human emotion and status is not regulated by serotonin, you cannot just manipulate the levels of serotonin and thereby alter your position in any kind of heirarchy.Boosting a lobster's serotonin levels will not move it up the heirarchy in any meaningful lasting way.More than likely if a smaller lobster starts getting all uppity it will quickly get smashed and put in it's place by a bigger more powerful lobster. In the same way that a drunk in a pub believes he can beat up mike tyson. You can't fake status by taking artificial chemicals.Higher levels of serotonin are a signifier of status because serotonin is raised by achieving goals,in other words the serotonin boost is the reward for real life achievement not the reason you are succesful. This is an elementary misunderstanding by mr peterson.

The belief that long term 'success' can be attributed solely to cognitive ability and work ethic is just blind. He even claims (not explained) empirical evidence for this! It is the poorest people in the world that (have to) work the hardest. Donald Trump became a billionaire because of his cognitive ability? Really. You can argue that there is a historical precedent for this, and that most, if not all human civilizations had this inequality, that's fine. But any argument that tries to deny the glaringly obvious and irrefutable fact that success in capitalist systems is mostly based upon where you are, who your parents were and how much money they had, has no credibility at all. Wanting to 'change the world' doesn't have to come from resentment, it can come from a (fundamentally human imo) desire to reject systems that are unjust. The people that do reject them are not failures or irresponsible , they are truly the ones that make life bearable.
